Come celebrate the coming new year at Marietta’s all-time favorite indie bookstore—ever-charming Stone Soup Books in downtown Waynesboro. Owner Mary Katharine Froehlich roots her passion for books in community, she toasts 2023 with hot cocoa and molasses cookies. Marietta brings her signing pen and tidings of joy, looking forward to seeing friends old and new. Her latest book, Leaving 1203, offers a look back at the forever lessons she relearned while emptying her beloved-by-four-generations childhood home. And, given the hardship of the past couple of years, she looks forward to sharing these clear reminders of what really matters that now serve perfectly as the blueprint for a better future.
