Permaculture Workshop with Nicky Schauder

Nicky Schauder is the co-founder of Permaculture Gardens, a family-run education and ecological gardening business based on Bethany Farm in Northern Virginia. She and her husband, Dave, help families grow their own food, medicine, and faith through practical, small-scale permaculture gardening.

Nicky’s gardening journey began when her children were diagnosed with severe food allergies and “failure to thrive.” What started as a search for clean, nourishing food led her family to transform a tiny townhouse backyard into a productive edible garden that supplied a significant portion of their fruits and vegetables. That experience eventually grew into Permaculture Gardens, where Nicky now teaches families how to create resilient, abundant gardens at home.

She is the author of Permaculture Gardening for Everyone, a speaker, educator, researcher, and farm-based teacher.
