MUSIC
Douglas Day

Friday, April 9, 2010Douglas Day

Douglas Day is a folksinger and fingerstyle guitarist with a Ph. D. in folklore who lives with his family in Waynesboro.

As a professional folklorist, Day has documented southern and mid-Atlantic folklore and folklife since Jimmy Carter was president. With guitar and tape recorder in hand, he has learned from urban bluesmen and mountain ballad singers, and has accompanied gospel quartets in black and white churches.

The music he plays has been gleaned from fieldwork from Appalachia to the Sea Islands, from the Mississippi Delta to Pennsylvania Dutch country, and the result is a gumbo of blues, country, gospel, folk, rock 'n' roll, and rhythm 'n' blues. And he plays it with style!

Dining and music begin at 6:15 p.m.
No cover charge.
Space limited. Call for seating availability.
